What is corona virus(CoV)
Corona viruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses which cause common cold with sneezing, coughing, shortness of breath etc. It becomes more severe and gives rise to diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). The novel corona virus (nCoV) is a new one which has not been identified in humans before.
NCoVs are zoonotic, means they are spread between animals and people. According to researches, SARS-CoV was transmitted from civet cats to humans and MERS-CoV from dromedary camels to humans. There are some coronaviruses which circulate in animals and these have not yet infected humans.

The symptoms of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more acute cases, the infection can lead to pneumonia, severe respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.

Try to wash your hands frequently with soap and water and also rub your hands with a good quality alcohol-based hand sanitizer. As a result, you can kill the virus present on your hands.
2. Keep social distancing
When someone coughs or sneezes, small liquid droplets get spread from his nose and mouth and these may contain the virus. People close to this infected person can breathe in the droplets. Try to stay away from people having a cold. Keep at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and the person who is coughing or sneezing.
3. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
As our hands touch different surfaces, these can pick up viruses. If you touch your eyes, nose or mouth without cleaning your hands, the virus can reach your body through your eyes, nose or mouth and can make you sick. Therefore, avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.
4. Be careful of respiratory hygiene
Ensure that you and the people near you have good respiratory hygiene. You need to cover your mouth and nose with your curved elbow or tissue during coughing or sneezing. Then discard the used tissue instantly. Thus, you save both you and the people around you.
5. Consult a doctor
If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, consult a doctor at the earliest. will redirect to a proper health facility. Additionally, stay at home if you feel unwell. If you need immediate care, your healthcare provider will arrange.

1. Try to remain isolated at home still recovering if you start feeling unwell, even with mild symptoms like sneezing, headache and a slight runny nose. You should stay isolated and also keep a distance from others at home and hospital to get special facilities to operate more effectively and can protect you and others from probable COVID-19 and other viruses.
2. Similarly, if you have fever, cough and breathing difficulties, consult a doctor immediately as your problem may be a respiratory infection or other severe condition. Call in advance to your travel provider and tell him about your recent travel or contact with travellers. Thus, your provider will send you quickly to the right health care facility.
